Twenty Five Up! – APIRA at 25 !

Apira Ltd, the digital health consultancy is this month celebrating 25 years supporting health and care organisations along their digital journeys.

The company, which now has a workforce of over 70 health and care professionals, has supported well over 100 NHS trusts, regional NHS bodies and national arms-length bodies through the years.

Recently, we have seen our order book more than double with the renewed focus on digital, largely driven by NHS organisations needing to respond to the challenges covid-19 presented.

Whilst the company has traditionally focussed on areas such as the procurement and deployment of Electronic Patient Records, and departmental systems such as PACS/RIS, LIMS and maternity, it has widened its focus in the last couple of years.

We have now moved into areas such as remote monitoring and remote conferencing, robotic process automation and shared care records. Apira executive chair and non-exec director Charles Skinner puts the company’s longevity firmly down to Apira’s workforce.

“At Apira we don’t sell software. We support NHS organisations to make the most of digital tools, technology and data. To achieve this we not only support organisations to justify, specify and buy solutions, we also put a huge focus on the organisational change required to enable organisations to deploy, adopt and realise the benefits from these digital technologies.

Our people care passionately about what they do and understand the organisational, mindset and process change that is needed to make these programme a success. They come from a range of backgrounds, some having worked for local NHS trusts, some for national bodies, some from other consultancies.

But all with the same values of delivering a quality service to our many clients, and improving healthcare delivery, experience and clinical outcomes for patients, improving working lives, and supporting NHS organisations to improve efficiency and productivity so that they can continue to invest in technology and services.

Whilst we are pleased with the progress we have made over the years, through the national programme to the modern day, our hunger to do the right things for patients and our clients is relentless and we are looking forward to continuing our growth over the next few years”

We would like to thank all the many members of our team included our permanent and associate colleagues, and partners who have worked with us over the years, and all the many NHS organisations who have entrusted us to support and help them on their digital journeys.

Here’s to the next 25 years!
