At Apira we pride ourselves on protecting our clients through their digital journeys, helping them to reduce risk and uncertainty, and on our ability and flexibility to adapt and to change where required to support them along the way.
To our many NHS clients we have worked with over the last 20 years, we want you all to know we stand ready, at this intensely challenging time, to support you over the coming weeks and months in whatever capacity you need us to.
We have, in support of our clients, put some work on hold, particularly given the need to delay the launch of some procurements and deployments whilst the NHS prioritises its response to Covid-19 and other core essential operational activities.
We have also scaled back our new business development activities – we know this is not the time for sales pitches! Now is the time to support the NHS, its staff, patients and the wider public.
We’ve seen over the last few weeks how existing and emerging digital technology is supporting and helping the NHS at what is probably the most challenging period in its history.
Our consultants have worked on many projects over the last two decades that are helping the current ‘war effort’, whether that be at a local level through delivering resilient and safe Electronic Patient Record or Electronic Document Management systems and video conferencing technologies. Or, at a national level leading the delivery of free WiFi to GP Surgeries and hospitals or expanding the use of the Summary Care Record and other patient facing digital services.
As a company we have taken steps to move our teams to virtual working with most of our work now being done remotely. Some of our team are still working on Trust sites where this has been asked for by our clients, including moving into roles where we are helping to co-ordinate some of the Covid-19 response efforts and to increase the pace of roll-out of some paper digitisation projects that were already in flight..
For example, at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where we are helping to roll out essential IT hardware and software to enable NHS colleagues to conduct digital clinics (using Attend Anywhere). This will enable patients to have a telephone or video consultation in place of a physical consultation where this is appropriate, helping to minimise patient footfall on site.
Also at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, where we are supporting the Trust to rapidly roll-out Microsoft Teams.
