Theatres and Critical Care Facility Outline Business Case (OBC)

Preparation of NHSI compliant Outline Business Case

Oct 2016 – March 2018

The Trust had engaged a supplier through the P21+ Framework and required a business case advisor/author to prepare a Treasury 5-case model OBC for submission through Trust approvals and then to NHSI to support their capital bid for the build. We provided a compliant template and through various workshops and meetings, populated the template building on work previously completed on their Strategic Outline Case (SOC). We then performed a gap analysis based on the NHSI checklist and engaged with all key stakeholders to generate content. Support continued through several variations of the build proposal and a compliant OBC was produced and signed off by the Trust’s project lead.

Electronic Patient Record Procurement

Business Case; Specification and Procurement Lead

2016 – 2018

In this project we worked from the inception of the project to produce a business case for the introduction of an Electronic Patient Record system.  After gaining full approval to proceed from the Trust Board we specified all the business, technical and user requirements for the solution.  We then prepared for procurement launch including all necessary documents e.g. Invitation to Tender; Evaluation Model; Offer Schedule; Memorandum of Information.  We then ran an Open OJEU procurement process, documented the outcome and updated to case to a Full Business Case (FBC).  The Trust Board subsequently approved the results of the procurement process and the FBC.  We are now concluding the contractual details with the Preferred Bidder and will be assisting the Trust with deployment as Programme Manager.

Preferred Bidder stage; now concluding contract.

Secure Children’s Home SystmOne Use and Reporting

Project Management, Configuration & Training

2017 – 2018

Having deployed SystmOne across three Secure Childrens homes in the previous year we were asked by NHS E to work with them to improve their use of the system. Subsequently we were asked to help them produce their HJIPS Key Performance Indicator reports. We are now working with the three homes in a collaborative manner to standardise their methods of working and create revised templates to gather the required data and improve the clinical recording in the homes.

We are also redesigning a large assessment template that the homes find very difficult to work with, breaking it down to a central landing page with the other sections linked from it. This enables the home to complete the assessment in a more representative way to how they work clinically rather than having to enter all the data at the same time.

Improved clinical recording and reporting within the homes.
